DESCRIPTION:POST-FEMINISM / Natalie Baxter\, Magnus Hastings\, Cécile Hoodie\, Lene Kilde\, Samantha Gray\, Sarah Maxwell\, Sophia Süßmilch \nThe exhibition POST-FEMINISM / Natalie Baxter\, Magnus Hastings\, Cécile Hoodie\, Lene Kilde\, Samantha Gray\, Sarah Maxwell\, Sophia Süßmilch will take place from 15th of June until 13th of July 2018. The opening day will be on 14th of June 2018. \nPost-Feminism can be considered a critical way of understanding the changed relations between feminism\, popular culture and femininity. Thus\, post-feminism deliberately distances itself from the radical and\, as it were\, intellectual feminism of the second and third women’s movements\, and strives for the next stage of gender-related social progress; where society is no longer defined by gender-specific role patterns. It may also be used to invoke the view that feminism is no longer relevant to today’s Western society\, because gender equality is already achieved. The reasoning is based on the individual choices of young women in terms of occupation\, life partner\, lifestyle as well as sexuality and body. In empiricism\, however\, this view is increasingly criticized when taking a closer look at the current (#)Metoo debate\, the persisting wage differences\, the unbroken discrimination of intersexual and transgender people\, as well as the treatment of women in the art world. The exhibition should critically reflect the image of women in the 21. century\, which moves between self-empowerment and self-submission. In times where gender is no longer defined by the powerful discourse of biology\, but depicts in the context of ‚doing gender‘ social and intersubjective construction\, the body becomes raw material that can be freely shaped. What does self-empowerment mean for the role of women and their sexuality? Sie bilden dabei eine Symbiose aus ihren Berufen als Mode- und\nGrafikdesignerinnen. Beide voll berufstätigen Frauen haben sich wieder nach einer freien\, kreativen Tätigkeit gesehnt und so entstand das Herzensprojekt auf Zeit. Sie erzählen mit ihren 70 bedruckten Kleidungsstücken die Geschichte einer/jeder starken Frau. Inspiration der beiden Designerinnen ist die Ursprungsgeschichte Evas. Die veralteten\, negativ belegten\nElemente des Print-designs wurden neu interpretiert und weiter entwickelt\, sie wurden positiv belegt. So ist Beispielsweise die bekannte verbotene Frucht\, der Apfel\, bei ihnen die Lebensenergie spendende Orange\, und Eva die Frau\, die sich traut von ihr zu essen. „…If life gives you oranges\, squeeze it and enjoy it‘s taste!“\nDas Herzstück des Projekts bildet die Auswahl aus handverlesenen\, weißen Kleidungsstücken. Die hochwertigen Einzelstücke stammen aus zahlreichen Second-Hand-Läden ganz Europas. Sie wollen\ndamit zeigen\, dass man nicht neu kaufen muss um etwas Neues zu besitzen. Diese einzigartige Sammlung bildet die Grundlage\, um mit PROJEKT EVA etwas ganz Besonderes zu schaffen.\nSie haben mit Linoldruck\, Aquarell und Tuschezeichnungen ihre Ideen dargestellt und sie zu einem blauen Print ausgearbeitet. Anschließend wurden diese ca. 20 verschiedenen Elemente auf die weißen Kleidungsstücke und einer limitierten Anzahl von Plakaten gesiebdruckt. \nhttps://projekteva.com/

DESCRIPTION:J.Lamotta すずめ (speak: Jay Lamotta Suzume) was born in Tel Aviv to a family with Moroccan roots. Her relationship with music actually started with the blues\, singing tunes by Lightnin‘ Hopkins and R.L Burnside. Later as a teenager she fell in love with Jazz\, and the sound of Billie Holiday\, John Coltrane and Sun Ra. \nIn 2014 and just before finishing her Bachelor degree in Jazz\, she decided to relocate to Berlin – instead of New York – where she was supposed to finish her studies.\nIn Berlin\, she discovered her passion for soul and hip-hop through the sounds of Marvin Gaye\, Curtis Mayfield and J Dilla. That was also when she began flipping samples\, producing her own beats\, and singing on them\, as well as rapping\, playing trumpet\, percussion\, synthesizer & the guitar.\nShe has independently released several self-produced EPs: „Dedicated To“ (2015) „Grains of Sand“ (2016) „Better Now“ (2016) and „State of Being“ (2017).\nIn September 2016 she formed her own seven-piece band\, „The Dizzy Sparrow“\, to perform her beats live. „Conscious Tree“ is her first official release. It’s being released in December 2017 by Jakarta Records. \nslimgirl fat is a small fish in a big pool. You might know her through her further projects Gaddafi Gals and Nalan381. slimgirl fat loves what comes around – just as J. Timerlake does – and so her music will sound like. There is nothing published yet – only two 30 minutes mixtapes on her soundcloud page. But she is working hard. Working on her first solo record. She locks herself in a tiny room and keeps chanting all night long.
